Why are my extensions matting or tangling?

Matting usually starts near the roots and comes from friction, dryness, product buildup, sleeping with wet hair, or an install that's too tight. The good news: it's preventable.

  • Brush daily with a soft or loop brush, starting at the ends.
  • Keep the hair moisturized with sulfate-free products and a light leave-in.
  • Never sleep with wet or damp hair. Braid it loosely and use a silk or satin pillowcase.
  • Keep up with your stylist's move-up schedule for installed extensions.

Catch tangles early, because they get harder to fix the longer they stay. Matting that's already started? Chat with us, and we'll help you sort it out.
