How much hair do I need?

It depends on three things: how thick your own hair is, the length you want, and the method you choose. Here's what most people use. Each product page shows the exact pack details, and weights are approximate.

  • Clip-ins: one 7-piece seamless set, 120 grams at 16" or 150 grams at 20".
  • Halo: one 80-gram piece.
  • Tape-ins: 3-4 packs of 10 pieces (about 19-24 grams each, depending on length) for length or volume.
  • Hand-tied weft rows: 2-3 or more packs (about 50 grams each) for fullness, 3-4 or more for length.
  • Beaded weft rows: 4-6 packs for length, 6-8 or more for volume, at 20" and longer.
  • Machine wefts: 1-2 packs (about 4 ounces each).
  • I-tips and U-tips: 3-4 packs of 25 strands for length or volume, 4-8 or more for a full install.

Finer hair usually needs fewer packs. Thicker hair and longer lengths need more.
